Old Fashioned Crockpot Beef Stew

Ingredients
  

  • 2 lbs Beef Stew meat  
  • 1 medium onion
  • 4 cloves of garlic
  • 4 carrots ( cut into medium size)
  • 1 lbs potatoes (quartered )
  • 2 stalks of celery
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 14 oz tomato sauce
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce or soy sauce
  • 1 tsp dried herbs (thyme, oregano, basil)
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 3 tbsp corn starch
  • 3 tbsp water

Method
 

  1. This is a dump and go recipe and we’re going to start by putting in the beef pieces.
  2. Next add in the carrots, potatoes, chopped celery , diced onions,
  3. Next, add in your tomato sauce
  4. Add in your dried herbs (thyme, oregano, basil) and Worcestershire sauce
  5. Add in your minced garlic and sugar
  6. Season with salt and pepper. Stir to combine
  7. Cover and set the crockpot for 6 – 8 hrs to cook the beef stew low and slow
  8. 30-minutes before the timer is up, add in your cornstarch slurry to thicken the dish.
  9. Once timer is up, uncover and taste for seasoning. Adjust accordingly
  10. Your beef stew is now ready.
